About us

Voci Allegre ("joyful voices" in ital.) was created as another story of the rich Trnava choral tradition. The choir performs a cross-sectional spectrum of the repertoire, from early music through all the historical periods, to contemporary composers. Also in their repertoire are folk songs and popular music, along with vocal/instrumental works. In fall of 2022, the choir began its tenth jubilee season with three concerts of Palestrina's Mass. It will end the jubilee season with a festival concert in the spring of 2023.

Conducting Masterclass at the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU)

In March, we took part in a conducting masterclass at VŠMU, where both aspiring and experienced conductors had the opportunity to try leading a choir firsthand. Our performance included works by Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel.

2024

Christmas concert with orchestra

In December, we joined forces with the Trnava Chamber Orchestra to present a unique pre-Christmas concert. The program featured Missa pastoralis Alma nox by Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský, along with arrangements of traditional Slovak carols and popular international Christmas songs. Performances with Lucky Voice Band

The 2023 choir competition in Prague offered not only wonderful musical experiences but also the opportunity to connect with other ensembles. We were delighted to welcome the Prague-based Lucky Voice Band to Trnava and Bratislava, strengthening our international musical friendships. Photos from the performances: Gallery 1, Gallery 2.

Series of Easter concerts

In April and September, we had the pleasure of performing our Easter program during a series of concerts in Bratislava, Cífer, Trnava, and Považská Bystrica. Our repertoire spanned from early music masters to contemporary composers, offering the audience a rich and diverse musical experience. 2023

Musica Orbis Prague

Our choir achieved at the International choral competition in Prague golden medal in the category Mixed choirs, free programme, golden medal in the category Folk songs and became the overall winner of the competition. We are happy about it and thank to our partners - Self-governing region of Trnava and City of Trnava.
